The Quinnipiac Ballroom Society is a student run organization out of Quinnipiac University in it's third academic year. QBS's goal is to provide ballroom dancing instruction to all of it's social and competitive members that will enrich each individuals lives socially. QBS meets several times a week. Please see our events tab for further information on the days and times we meet during the Fall 2009 semester.

Want to learn how to dance? Well you've come to right place. QBS offers dance instruction in both the Latin and Smooth divisions of Ballroom Dancing. In the American Style Latin "Rhythm" division we teach Salsa, Swing, Mambo, Bolero, Paso Doble, Rumba, and the Cha-cha-cha. Hustle is also a group dance that is often taught as well. For American Style "Smooth", we offer lessons in Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Quickstep
Dance sessions are divided into several group classes as well as competitive classes, taught by the society president, Eric Turcio. Group classes are once a week and last for two hours. All dances are broken down to teach beginners to more advanced dancers. Instruction is also given by our dance coaches, Karen Pfrommer, professional ballroom dancer and owner of "Let's Dance in Rhythm" a ballroom studio in Branford, CT as well as Alex Scott, professional ballroom dancer and theatrical choreographer.

QBS has monthly dance parties which are a great social outlet to dance what you're learning and meet new people from all over. Our dance parties are always a huge success. We have a Live DJ, professional showcase dances, great buffet, and over 3000 Square foot dance floor to get moving! Students from all over campus come out to just general dance and socialize. Surrounding dance studios are also invited to help promote dancing on and off the QU Campus. Please take a look at our events tab for information on our up coming dance parties and showcases. We ask that you read the Team's bio's and learn about their experience's with QBS to get a better understanding of what the organization offers.

What do you get out of being a member of the Quinnipiac Ballroom Society? There's lots of great benefits, how about learning a style of dancing you can use anywhere and most importantly for rest of your life! You'll meet new people and develop a great social network on campus. You also get free admission to all the dance parties, your membership includes all group classes and training from professional champion dance coaches, competitions, as well as other showcase events.

Check out our photos and see for yourself what fun we have! Please feel free to contact Eric Turcio via e-mail regarding any questions about the program.
